“If you want to change your life, change your circumstances and it will change the world. Use that foundation as fuel and all the experiences that make you who you are. Build a house on that foundation house that will last, well beyond your years here.”

Have you ever looked at a house, and said, Wow, look at that foundation? If we look at our lives, like a house. It all starts with the buried history that no one ever sees foundation of my life started with a few cracks for sure. But over time, I’ve realized just how strong those cracks have made me an elementary school. I think I broke the record for the most times that you could get suspended or sent to the principal’s office. I guess I just wanted attention. I had a father, that wanted nothing to do with me. A step father that beat the shit out of me. My mother, eventually left my stepfather at the time and growing up, it was just the three of us, myself, my sister and my mother. We grew up in apartments most of my life on section eight housing. My mother worked hard. We never went hungry or anything like that we always had the latest toys. Great clothes and all the little things in life.

One year I remember wanting to surprise my mother, and it was around the holidays. I went to the local Christmas tree lot at the time. I bought our family Christmas tree. I remember the look on the salesman’s face when he wrapped the tree up and expected to see my parents for the car, something. And I proudly told him that I was going to carry that Christmas tree home to my mother. And that’s what I did. And I didn’t think twice about it. I just did what needed to be done.In high school, I made a decision. I didn’t want to be another poverty statistic.I wanted more. And I was never once sent to the principal’s office, never wants to spend it from school, outside of school. I ran with a pretty, pretty wild crew. And many of them are no longer here today. I went to college, worked my way through college, got a job in wireless sales. And I became the number one sales rep, in that company really quickly. And I made great money as a young man going to college, I took that money. I invested in real estate, I started flipping houses buying and selling houses with some friends. And today, I live a pretty amazing life. I’ve got a beautiful wife, two amazing daughters. I own my own business, my gift to you is to embrace the foundation that your life is built on. As I said in the beginning. No one ever walks past the house and says, Look at that foundation. But when the storms rolling and times get tough. It’s that strong foundation that carries you through. So If you want to change your life, your circumstances, the world… than use all the experiences that FUEL you and make up your foundation and go build a house on top of that foundation. Go build a house that people will walk by and say wow, a house that will weather the storm and still be standing well beyond your time on this earth.
